MOSFLM help and guidance

The current version of Mosflm is version 7.0.6 (uploaded onto this site 2nd February 2010).

The current version of iMosflm (the new TclTk-based GUI) is version 1.0.4 (uploaded onto this site 2nd February 2010).

Mosflm is a program for integrating single crystal diffraction data from area detectors. It is assumed that the experiment was conducted using the Arndt-Wonacott oscillation method, and also that monochromatic radiation was used. Mosflm can process data from a wide variety of modern area detectors, e.g. from Mar Research, Rigaku/MSC, ADSC, DIP etc.

• An old PDF file (1.2Mb) containing notes on how to get started with the program is now available (from a presentation at the CCP4 workshop at the ACA meeting in San Antonio, TX on 25th May 2002); this is also available as a PowerPoint file (1.7Mb) which also has some animations, and can be viewed with StarOffice and OpenOffice)

• You should read this file before you download.

• The program itself can be picked up via HTTP in both pre-built and build-it-yourself versions.

  Mosflm and iMosflm are not currently available from our anonymous ftp site.

• If you have not yet installed a version of CCP4 at least as new as 6.1.0 you must do so (complete with the library files libccp4f.a, libccp4c.a and libxdl_view.a) before trying to build MOSFLM version 7.0.6.

• The latest up-to-date version of the MOSFLM User Guide

• A rudimentary keyword search (under very slow development)

• A brief synopsis Perlscript.

• Since CCP4 version 4.1, Mosflm is also available from the CCP4 download site complete with a newly-designed configure/make.

• Some answers to common problems in both installation and running MOSFLM.

• A very short document with answer(s) to frequently asked questions.

• The Mosflm User Guide is available as plain text, as an HTML document (best for online browsing), and as a PDF document (best for printing).

• An experimental version of the MOSFLM on-line help for web-browsers.

• A selection of documents available on the internet describing the whys and wherefores of data collection and processing.
