Single-molecule sequencing
Virtually all conventional DNA sequencing is done using improved versions of the method first developed at LMB by Fred Sanger in the 1970’s. The SMG group is developing new approaches to DNA sequencing which will make it possible to read the sequence of single DNA molecules. |
